Ouch!

Okay, I was at the Annual Pirate Rendezvous in Damriscotta with my dad's Sea Scout Ship, and I was dressed like a pirate complete with rapier and hatchet tucked in my belt. I was practicing with the rapier and I dropped it. When I leaned down to pick it up, I scraped my hand across the blade of the hatchet. Luckily, one of the Sea Scout leaders took me to the hospitle, where I got six-count 'em-six stiches in my hand. It's all bandaged up now, and just about the only thing I can do with it is type. Of course, I've always wanted to train myself to be ambidextrous, so I guess now's my golden opportunity!

  1. Ooh. I didn't know it was a real rapier! Haha. Good luck! I know some people are born ambedextrous, but I don't know if you can actually train yourself though. Oh well. Good luck!

  2. It was a fencing rapier, but the axe was sure sharp!

  3. Axe? What axe? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I don't speak weapons.

  4. It was just a hatchet-with a jagged edge!

  5. Ooh. Be careful of infections, 'cause they're usually more dangerous than the cut itself.

  6. Well, I got my stitches out a couple days ago, so I take it it's not infected....
